2026 is only a few weeks away. So I wanted to share my views on 2026. You know, whether we're gonna die or not. Everyone knows I can predict that, I have psychic powers!
Where do I begin? Well, uh... geopolitics? Russia and Ukraine are at war. As they have been since 2014, I think, but this conflict's been going on since 2022. In case you didn't know my stance (and I've never shared it so you probably don't), I stand with Ukraine, and who wouldn't? It's an obvious invasion! Well, the U.S. seems to have made something of a 28-point peace plan, and it seems to blow fucking ASS for Ukraine. I don't know if that's recent or if we're still doing that, I don't know, I don't live on geopolitical news, I have a life. But it wouldn't shock me if Trump's still pushing it, considering how badly they bitched in the Oval Office.
Onto tech. It's obviously going to improve, duh!!! NVIDIA released their 50 series not too long ago, and AMD with their 9000 series. Small digress, but I wonder if AMD will do 10000 next or if they'll find some other solution. Now, I'm behind on GPUs. In fact, just this month, I got an RX 7600 for my gaming PC. This site is being run on a Raspberry Pi 5, I'm obviously not Mr. Richy McRichguy! Oh, speaking of the Pi 5, we could get a Raspberry Pi 6 this year! Yay! Something that I really thought was interesting is the expectation for a Neural Processing Unit for AI tasks. Now, take this with a grain of salt, because I only have two sources for this, Google's garbage ass AI, and this random dude that the AI probably got it from:
https://blog.siqma.com/what-are-the-new-features-of-the-raspberry-pi-6/If you're willing to trust either of those, then good for you, but I'm not too sure. After all, a NPU doesn't seem THAT essential, especially not for a credit card sized computer like a Raspberry Pi.
More into tech, AI's gonna get even bigger. I'm gonna let y'all decide whether to cheer or boo. I'm not too into the AI industry, nor do I particularly care, but I'd imagine big things are gonna come. Like not being able to tell between AI generated images and videos and the real thing. Now, that's a massive boo from me. How will the Internet be safe if we don't even know what images and videos to trust as being real and accurate? Here's where we really do need regulation. Such content does pose a serious risk.
Anyway, I'm getting bored. I haven't posted in a while, which is why I made this one so big. I'm notably very sporadic in what I do. I probably will post again before 2026, but in case I don't for whatever reason, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
